2009-Apr-16 HITSP Tiger Teams PDF Print E-mail

John Halamka, CEO of HITSP (Health Information Technology Standards Panel), announced during HIMSS that HITSP was forming five "Tiger Teams" to bring high-level technical focus on ARRA (the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act). 

It is expected these teams will use the existing HITSP standards documents to produce a "simpler publication that addresses the interoperability requirements needed for meaningful use of EHR systems," according to Keith Boone, co-chair of the Data Architecture Tiger Team.

The 5 tiger teams are:

These "Tiger Teams" are expected to have a big impact on Standards for Healthcare IT in the United States over the next year.
