Press Release in Nextgov.com on April 20, 2009: Aneesh Chopra, Virginia's secretary of technology, has been chosen to be the federal government's first chief technology officer. Health IT has been a "labor of love" for him, and he had spent his career in state government promoting the use of IT to improve patient care, he told Nextgov.com. As the government's top technology person, Chopra will work closely with Jeffrey Zients, pegged as the government's first chief performance officer, and Vivek Kundra, who was nominated by President Obama earlier this year to be fed's chief information officer, NextGov said. |
